Cricket - AUS vs NZ in Hobart

Game 2 of the One Day International series at Bellerieve. Australia took on New Zealand, and winning the toss Ricky Ponting chose to bat. A perfect choice as Gilchrist and Symonds tore the New Zealanders apart with big hitting all around the ground. NZ got their own back at the end of the innings when Shane Bond scored a hat trick that restricted the Aussies to 289 - taking White, Symonds and Bracken out in consecutive deliveries.

The Kiwis came out with victory in mind and after losing their openers quite cheaply they set about reaching that target of 290. Thanks to some great bowling by local debutant Ben Hilfenhaus, Symo's catch and Pup's runout we were able to cut of their amazing run chase. The score never really showed how close they were for most of the match when at the end of the day they only reached 184.
