Hobart Bushfires
Amazing.. Wednesday and Thursday were the two worst days back-to-back ever on record as far as "Extreme Fire Danger" are concerned in Hobart. And didn't the firerys get a work out.
After controlling a large blaze in Mt Nelson Wednesday, a massive fire started at Risdon Vale. The hot, blustery winds pushed this fire south through the bush adjacent to Geilston Bay, Lindisfarne and through to the Tasman Highway as Mt Rummney and surrounding areas came under serious threat.

And here's some amazing shots taken by Ian Stewart that have done the email rounds today.
An amazing night panorama across the bay.
Panorama from the Mt Nelson Signal Station
Surely some concerned residents here
The blaze in all it's glory - with all that smoke and flame, it's no wonder they shut down the Tasman Highway!!
