The Hobart Cup 2006

Monday was Regatta day in the south of Tassie and with this comes the annual Hobart Cup With several weeks of hard work organising food, drinks, the Impact marquee and a whole lot of ice, the day finally came. After a few starter drinks at Jen's house prior to take off, we finally all got to the Elwick racecourse and "got stuck into a few tinnies".

Unfortunately even though I had my camera I just plain forgot to take any photo's at all, so I'll thank Jo for the use of these as a memoir of the day.

Tim, Luke and myself

The boys again, plus Bec and Renee

Apparently there were horses there

Tim appearing very off colour

Bec, Angie and myself

I remain a firm believer that 95% of the people attending these events have no idea about horses/racing at all (me included) and just love the social aspect.

Following the huge day in the wind, a number of us headed out to Bridies and were treated to some seriously loud music from 'Ethyl the Frog' (Yes Bec we get it, Ethyl the Frog are your favourite live band, now just SHUT UP!!!).

Ohh dear - what a huge day/night it turned out to be... the worst thing was failing to organise the next day as a annual leave day and actually having to front up to work........

I AM NEVER DRINKING AGAIN!!!!

Yeah, well I would have posted a pic of myself at about 11pm when I left Bridies after 13 hours of drinking, but I don't have one...

And you'd probably struggle to recognise me as I am sure I was quite messy indeed!!
