Last weekend Michelle and I headed off to do a drive through the North east, with the prime target Mt William National Park - a spot where miraculously both our families used to camp years ago, but never met.
First port of call was the old family farm... I haven't been there in years and DAMN it looked good. Really green paddocks, new irrigation system and one HUGE mother of a dam out the back. Silly me forgot to take photos though.
Moving on, here's Michelle and the new Astra (well 2nd hand new)
The Blue Lake - remnants of the Tin mining conducted out near South Mount Cameron.
Finally made it to Mt William, but the road to the campsite was closed for repairs, so we parked and walked along the beach. Damn I love Tassie beaches!!
There was a big pile of kelp on the beach, and in it we found this crazy little fella. Funny looking, but he'll pack one hell'uva bite - it's a Blue Bottle jellyfish.
Next we drove around to Eddystone Point - this is a place where I go diving from a bit, but it's has been a while. As noted by the new pavers at the boat ramp that I'd never seen before.
And as per most dangerous "points" in Tassie - there is a lighthouse. If only this bad boy could tell stories!!
After there, we headed south through Anson's Bay and St. Helens, then all the way down the East Coast back to Hobart. All in all, about 500kms and 10-11 hours.
